दिल्ली वालों के लिए यह एक खुशखबरी कि डीएमआरसी ने पिंक लाइन मेट्रो आम लोगों के लिए १४ मार्च को शुरू होगी। एक लंबे इंतजार के बाद मजलिस पार्क से साउथ कैंपस सेक्शन पर १४ मार्च यानी बुधवार से यात्रा कर सकेंगे।

यह मेट्रो फेज तीन में बन रही सबसे लंबी ५९ किलोमीटर की पिंक लाइन के पहले २१ किलोमीटर के सेक्शन को चालू करने के लिए हरी झंडी मिल गई है। केंद्रीय मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल इसे आम जनता को समर्पित करेंगे। डीएमआरसी के अनुसार, पिंक लाइन का यह सेक्शन आम लोगों के लिए १४ मार्च शाम छह बजे से खुल जाएगा।
दिल्ली मेट्रो का यह २१.५६ किलोमीटर का सेक्शन है, जो मजलिस पार्क से दुर्गाबाई देशमुख साउथ कैंपस तक जाएगा। इस सेक्शन पर १२ मेट्रो स्टेशन होंगे। इसके खुलने से यात्रियों के लिए तीन नए इंटरचेंज बनेंगे। तीनों इंटरचेंज रेड, यलो व ब्लू लाइन पर बनेंगे। इन तीनों लाइन पर बनने वाले इंटरचेंज से यात्री डीयू के साउथ कैंपस तक यात्रा कर पहुंच जाएंगे।
आपको ज्ञात हो कि मेट्रो के इस लाइन पर ड्राइवरलेस तकनीक वाली ट्रेन चलेगी। हालांकि अभी इस ट्रेन को ड्राइवर ही संचालित करेंगे। इस लाइन के शुरू होने के बाद छात्रों को भी काफी फायदा होगा। छात्र नार्थ कैंपस से साउथ कैंपस आसानी से आ जा सकेंगे। इतना ही नहीं इस लाइन के शुरू होने से रिंग रोड पर यातायात भी सुगम होने की संभावना है।

इस रूट में मजलिस पार्क, आजादपुर, शालीमार बाग, नेताजी सुभाष प्लेस, शकूरपुर, पंजाबी बाग पश्चिम, ईएसआई अस्पताल, राजौरी गार्डन, मायापुरी, नारायणा विहार, दिल्ली छावनी, दुर्गाबाई देशमुख साउथ कैंपस (धौला कुंआ) शामिल हैं।
