राहुल गांधी चीनी राजदूत से मिले थे, पूर्व एनएसए भी थे साथ, कांग्रेस ने माना। एक तरफ भारत-चीन में डोकलाम सीमा विवाद पर बहस छिड़ी हुई है, वहीं दूसरी तरफ कांग्रेस उपाध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी की मुलाकात चीनी राजदूत से हुई है। जबकि, कांग्रेस ने इस मुलाकात को पहले तो झूठा करार दिया था, लेकिन चीनी दूतावास की ओर से सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्ट तस्वीरें पोस्ट करने के बाद कांग्रेस के बयान बदल गए हैं।
कांग्रेस ने कहा है कि राहुल गांधी के साथ ही पूर्व राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार रहे शिवशंकर मेनन ने भी चीनी राजदूत से मुलाकात की है। ये ही नहीं, दोनों ने भूटानी राजदूत से भी मुलाकात की है। परन्तु ये केवल शिष्टाचार वश थी। इसके अलग मायने नहीं निकाले जाने चाहिए। फिर भी, राहुल की इस मुलाकात पर बढ़ने विवादों के बीच चीनी दूतावात ने उन जानकारियों को वेबसाइट से हटा दिया है, जिसमें राहुल से मुलाकात की जानकारी दी गई थी।
परन्तु इससे पहले खबर आई थी कि राहुल गांधी ने सिर्फ चीनी राजदूत से मुलाकात की है। इस मुलाकात को लेकर सोशल मीडिया पर जोरदार बहस होने लगी। साथ ही उनकी इस मुलाकात पर सवाल भी उठाए जाने लगे कि राहुल गांधी सांसद हैं, पर सीमा पर विवाद के बीच वो चीनी राजदूत से कैसे मिल सकते हैं। विरोध बढ़ता हुआ देख कांग्रेस पार्टी ने राहुल गांधी की ऐसी किसी भी मुलाकात को खारिज कर दिया था। पर चीनी दूतावास की तरफ से सोशल मीडिया पर तस्वीरें डाले जाने के बाद कांग्रेस के बयान भी बदल चुके हैं। कांग्रेस ने पहले से जारी बयान के ठीक उलट दूसरा बयान जारी किया है।
कांग्रेस के प्रवक्ता रणदीप सुरजेवाला ने कहा, हां, राहुल गांधी ने ८ जुलाई को चीनी राजदूत लियो झाओहुई से मुलाकात की थी। इस दौरान पूर्व राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार शिवशंकर मेनन भी थे। पर राहुल और मेनन ने सिर्फ चीनी राजदूत से ही मुलाकात नहीं की, बल्कि भूटानी राजदूत से भी मुलाकात की थी।
इसके बाद सुरजेवाला ने कहा कि ये मुलाकात सिर्फ औपचारिकता वश थी। ये शिष्टाचार वाली मुलाकात थी। विभिन्न देशों के राजदूत विपक्षी पार्टियों के मुखिया और बड़े नेताओं से मिलते रहे हैं। इसमें कुछ नया नहीं है।
